Lately

My baby girl turned 4 on the 13th. What? I can't believe it myself. She is so grown up too, like a 12 year old. Dylan is really smart and so sweet. She loves her little sister and wants mommy to have another. She thinks it will be a boy and she says she wants to name him "Jeff."

Dylan is in ballet, which she loves. She does really well too. She knows all the correct terms and will do them all at the drop of a hat. She was born a performer.

Dylan is also in her 2nd year of preschool at Wee Wonders. I love it. She likes the social aspect and learns quickly, but does not enjoy homework time or anything that involves quietly working. She is a social butterfly, like dad. We love D so much and are so so so happy that she is part of this family. Dylan planned her own party/BBQ with pinata, of course...

OH, and how could I forget the small vacay. Matt and I enjoyed 9 days of bliss in Maui. Thanks to our families who picked up the slack while we sun bathed, biked, hiked, ate and enjoyed the most wonderful place on earth.

The most fabulous trees and flowers.

All day, everyday.

Top of Haleakala. Amazing and beautiful. So worth the 2am rise and shine. The sunset was indescribable and the bike ride down was wild.

Christmas

Christmas in Las Vegas was most enjoyable. We had a great time with the whole family. The girls were just adorable. They both became ecstatic when they woke up to Sants's half eaten cookies and the reindeer's carrot remains. The girls loved the toys and special attention. Dylan got a bike, she is so good at riding it. She asked me the other day "mom, when can we take these training things off?" Monie was so cute. She got so excited about the toy she opened that she was hardly interested in moving on to the next present. Girls were spoiled, not discounting me. Matt always does it right. We enjoyed a delish dinner by Sara and Mike on Christmas Eve and another by Todd (bombest cook) on Christmas day. Love you, mom and dad.

South Dakota, Thanksgiving and Simone turns 2!

A week before Thanksgiving we went to South Dakota, why you ask?? To see Grampa Rex, Trish and Riley. We chose the best weekend to go, the first blizzard of the year. The girls loved the snow. We visited Mt. Rushmore but unfortunately we could not see it very well because of the snow. It was a relaxing trip, we are so glad we flew out. Thanks to Rex and Trish for showing us around and being great hosts.

Thanksgiving was the weekend so we headed to Logan. On Thanksgiving we woke up to run the turkey trot 5k. It was a really fun way to start the day. Dinner was delish and the company was great. we had a full house with lots of aunties, uncles and cousins. Thanks Kim for an awesome dinner.

Simone turned 2 the day after Thanksgiving. We went ice skating and to pizza to celebrate. Simone was happy to have pink cupcakes and pizza. She was not thrilled about ice skating, she napped on gramma's lap instead. Dylan was a little weary at first but got used to it and did not want to get off the ice. Simone got some fun gifts...a sleeping bag, tea set, shopping cart, princess jumping ball, new panties and clothes. Auntie Rae and Jen Jen also had a little celebration for Monie before Thanksgiving. Love them.
Simone is such a smart two year old. She is hilarious and so fun to be around. She amazes us everyday at how much she knows. She is so sweet and loves to cuddle (especially daddy). When Simone was born I worried about Dylan (and her LARGE personality) dominating Monie. I learned quickly that was not going to be the case. Simone is strong and can hold her own in most situations. She has become really good at tattling too. " Dylan hit me, pinched me, bit me, Dylan wont share" etc. Simone is really clumsy and accident prone. Dylan was so healthy and careful. Lately we have dealt with the following:

-getting tubes in her ears
-stabbing herself with a candy cane
-two week long cough
-a mad case of diarrhea
-face planting on the kitchen floor

I am sure I am forgetting something. We are more than happy to have this fabulous little girl in our home/lives. Our family would not be the same without our precious little angel baby, Simone Elle.
